About Charity Day 5K
On Sunday, July 2, 2017 runners and walkers will take to the streets of Columbus, Ohio for the 2nd Annual Charity Day 5K! The run/walk will be the first event of two days of Red, White & BOOM! festivities starting at 5pm followed by an all new entertaining post-race party hosted by Red, White & Boom! The parade, street festival, and fireworks take place the following day on July 3rd.
This is a collaborative fundraising effort of several charitable organizations running on the same course, while fundraising for their specific charitable organization. Our online registration system allows each participant to choose their beneficiary.
By co-producing the event, the Charity Day 5K will be a 5K experience unlike Columbus has ever seen. With an organized exciting start and fun post race party, each organization no matter how big or small, has a perfect venue to raise more money and increase their audience. Your participants get an incredible event experience without the headache or expense of organizing your own event.
Run for a reason, pick one charity while supporting all the others.
We have exciting news! Thanks to Brooks Running and Columbus Running every participant in the
2017 Charity Day 5K at Red, White & BOOM! will receive a Brooks Podium technical shirt, a $27.99 value!
In addition two lucky participants will receive a FREE pair of Brooks shoes of their choice!
You must be registered by Friday June 16th to guarantee your Brooks® shirt. The drawing for the shoes will take place on race day Sunday July 2nd, winners will be announced via social media and notified by email.
About Red, White & BOOM!
Over 400,000 people will gather in downtown Columbus to celebrate the Red, White & BOOM! This beloved event began in 1981 when 30,000 people gathered in Bicentennial Park to watch a small fireworks display. The excitement of the downtown Independence Day Celebration has boomed into what is now the largest single day event in Columbus and features the most recognized firework display in the Midwest.
